Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced AV Field Technician (Level 2 Support) to provide advanced support, troubleshooting, and maintenance of audiovisual systems across various client sites. This role involves working hands-on with AV hardware, resolving technical issues that escalate beyond Level 1 support, and assisting with AV system installations and upgrades. The ideal candidate is a skilled problem-solver with solid experience in AV technologies and strong interpersonal communication.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide Level 2 onsite and remote technical support for AV systems (video conferencing, audio systems, projectors, digital signage, control systems, etc.).
- Respond to escalated incidents from Level 1 support, resolving issues related to hardware, software, and network integration.
- Perform routine and preventive maintenance of AV equipment.
- Troubleshoot AV issues during live events or meetings and ensure minimal downtime.
- Install, configure, and test AV equipment such as microphones, speakers, displays, video walls, and control systems (e.g., Crestron, AMX, Extron).
- Support the integration of AV with IT systems (e.g., Teams Rooms, Zoom Rooms, SIP/H.323 conferencing).
- Collaborate with project managers and engineers during system installations and upgrades.
- Document all support activities, resolutions, and configurations in the ticketing system.
- Provide training and guidance to end users and junior technicians as needed.
- Maintain inventory of AV equipment and tools; coordinate RMA or warranty repairs when necessary.
- 1+ years of experience in AV field support or similar role.
- Strong knowledge of AV or related systems, signal flow, and troubleshooting methods.
- Hands-on experience with AV control systems (Crestron, AMX, Extron) or related technologies.
- Proficiency with video conferencing platforms (Microsoft Teams, Zoom, Cisco WebEx) or related technologies.
- Familiarity with networking fundamentals (IP addressing, VLANs, PoE).
- Excellent problem-solving, communication, and customer service skills.
