We are seeking a skilled and experienced Waste Management Specialist to join our team. As a Waste Management Specialist, you will play a key role in ensuring the effective management of waste streams within our organization.

Job Description:

As a Waste Management Specialist, your primary responsibility will be to supervise and support the functions of incoming waste segregation, including bulk waste and loose waste, as well as weighbridge operations. You will also be responsible for monitoring and improving department performance, conducting periodic reviews of existing workflows and procedures, and making recommendations for improvements and executing the improvement plans.

Key Responsibilities:

• Supervise and support the functions of incoming waste segregation, including bulk waste and loose waste, and weighbridge operations
• Monitor and improve department performance

• Daily and regular inspection of plant processes and monitor the working area 5S and TPM activities, safety and discipline at works, machineries and equipment conditions

• Lead and monitor the communication flow among internal departments on incoming waste discrepancy and revise related SOPs accordingly
• Evaluate and develop new treatment methods and handling procedures for new and unknown wastes, and review of operation costs and regular update to management
• Implement and supervise correct EHS practices within the department
• Work with resale for arrangement of recovered products to minimize the storage
• Prepare and analyse daily and monthly operation records/reports (e.g., cost, productivity, quality, nonconformance, etc) on plant processing and maintenance
• Follow up necessary corrective actions and monitor consistently to relevant department staffs to follow up closely
• Regular briefing/training to be conducted to department staffs for safety handling of high flammable solvent, MSDS, PPE requirement and risk assessment before operations
• Activate emergency response team of operation and maintenance staffs and response to any in house spill and fire incident if in case of emergency
• Liaise with EHS department to ensure fellow dept staff are upkeep with method of handling and emergency equipment usages in terms of spills and fire incident and to conduct regular practice and drill exercises with different scenarios to workers so that they are well familiar in emergency to response in time
• Ensure all fellow staffs are well trained according to OJT program and ensure they can follow up SOPs and work safely

Secondary Responsibilities:

• Undertake any other tasks assigned by the Management from time to time
• As an ISO committee member, develop and implement documents for operation procedures, such as SOP, RA and MOC, SWP and participate in auditing the various departments as an Internal Auditor

• On behalf of the Owner's Engineer (OE), the T&C Lead Engineer shall support the T&C Manager for overseeing all testing and commissioning activities of the IWMF Contractors, including the coordination of testing and commissioning activities of TWRP that interface with IWMF.
• The T&C Lead Engineer shall support the T&C Manager to lead the OE's proposed testing and commissioning team and coordinate with its Resident Site Supervision (RSS) Team and OE's design team as well as the Contractors to review the development of the Contractors testing and commissioning plan and the Contractors execution of their plan in order to achieve the Project milestones for each of the IWMF EPC Contracts (EPC Package 1 - Waste to Energy/Materials Recovery Facility and EPC Package 2 - Sludge Incineration Facility/Food Waste Treatment Facility).
• The T&C Lead Engineer shall support the T&C Manager to oversee the whole of each Contractors testing and commissioning activities, and the interfaces between EPC1 and EPC2 and TWRP as relevant, which should commence from dry/cold to hot commissioning to successful completion of entire commissioning process and trial run, including optimisation of plant operation with the Contractors and O&M teams.
• Participate as required by the T&C Manager in regular T&C Coordination Meetings with the Contractor and/or Other Contractors on adjacent sites (that is attended by Client representatives or similar others also)
• Any other matters that may from time to time be delegated by the T&C Manager.
• The OE's T&C Lead Engineers are estimated to be mobilised to site at least 6 months prior to the commencement of actual testing and commissioning by the Contractor in order to familiarise themselves with the Works and the Contractors plans for the T&C and the expectations of the Client.

• The T&C Lead Engineers shall have at least 5 years of hands-on relevant experience in testing and commissioning (and operation) of large scale solid waste management projects (Waste to Energy - WTE, sludge incineration, materials recovery and food waste treatment), or experience with large scale industrial/process/utilities projects (i.e. waste, water, oil & gas, power) testing and commissioning.
• The T&C Lead Engineer to have a relevant engineering degree or certification.

• The OE's T&C Manager is estimated to be mobilised to site at least 6 months prior to the commencement of actual testing and commissioning by the Contractor in order to familiarise themselves with the Works and the Contractors plans for the T&C and the expectations of the Client.

• The T&C Manager shall have at least 15 years of hands-on relevant experience in testing and commissioning (and operation) of large scale solid waste management projects (Waste to Energy - WTE, sludge incineration, materials recovery and food waste treatment), or experience with large scale industrial/process/utilities projects (i.e. waste, water, oil & gas, power) testing and commissioning.
