Introduction:

You will be part of the physical failure analysis team in GlobalFoundries Singapore and you will develop and implement methods and procedures for process control, process improvement, testing and inspection to ensure that the products are free of flaws and function as designed

Your Job

  • Provides Electrical and Physical failure isolation analysis support to localize failure defect and determine root cause of failure in silicon devices
  • Hypothesize failure root cause failure analysis from defect/failure signature leading to process changes to eliminate the problems
  • Support Lab management in equipment installation, upkeep and maintenance
  • Support new technique, method and development plans to improve efficiency and effectiveness
  • Formulate concise failure analysis reports and responsible in failure analysis results presentation to stakeholders
  • Perform all activities in a safe and responsible manner and support all Environmental, Health, Safety & Security requirements and programs
  • Work and collaborate other projects and/or assignments as needed

Required Qualifications :

  • Bachelor Degree with up to 2 years experiences or Master Degree
  • Requires a University degree in Engineering (Electrical &/or Electronics, Microelectronics, Physics, Material Sciences, Chemical)
  • Good Understanding in Semiconductor fundamentals, process flow, transistor device physics and circuit design and analysis are highly valued.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Established in hands-on EFA skillsets to perform Electrical fault isolation using laser induced techniques, photon emission and thermal microscopy with good understanding on techniques strength and limitation
  • Established in hands-on PFA skillsets to perform Physical Failure analysis methods including mechanical polishing/delayering, SEM inspection, FIB analysis and chemical etch procedures, for sample preparation and defect viewing
  • Experience on operating lab electronic instruments, ie Parametric Analyzers, are highly valued.
  • Works on improvement projects, take on tool ownership responsibilities and documentation of SOPs and specifications
  • Motivated, Committed, Works well in teams, possess good communication skills
  • Able to support OT and weekend shift (if required)

Micron NAND Technology Integration (NTI) Singapore is seeking a Yield Enhancement Physical Failure Analysis Technician to be responsible for providing physical failure analysis for next-generation Micron products. In this meaningful role identification and communication of failure mechanism and assisting with the root cause analysis for yield issues. You will need to be knowledgeable and have hands on experience with physical analysis tools such as but not limit to acid hood operation, polish wheel, delayer techniques with wet/dry etch, SEM, dual beam FIB, and STEM lamella creation. You will also help support the transfer of physical failure analysis processes into production.
Qualifications:

Demonstrate understanding of physical failure analysis on semiconductor devices
The Yield Enhancement group is a multi-disciplinary group, drawing engineers from Chemical, Materials, Electrical, Statistics and device physics. TD YE-PFA team collaborates with a diverse and talented team to isolate the root causes of the fails, and enable processes integration to deliver the next generation of memory processes nodes to production fab (manufacturing). PFA engineers require knowledge of semiconductor device physics, fabrication, operation, architecture, and statistics. PFA group routinely uses bench testers, emission and laser techniques for fail isolation. In addition work with FIBs, SEMs and TEMs to understand the root cause of the failure.
Responsibilities:
Collaborate with EFA engineering for a quick identification of a visual defect for a yield issue
Innovate creative ways improve work efficiency and shorten the time it takes to visualize root cause failures
Interpret and summarize the data, and present it to corresponding engineers verbal as well as written.
Build and improve new techniques and find exceptional ways to use the existing tools in order to identify new failure mechanism
Testing of new processes by evaluating techniques to improve productivity
Ownership of PFA tools to maintain maximum up time
Education
:
ITE or Diploma in an electronics related field or equivalent experience

As Yield Failure Analysis Lead in Micron NAND Technology Integration (NTI) Singapore department, you will be responsible for leading a team to provide failure analysis for next-generation Micron products. This involves optimizing Failure Analysis resources to meet the technology commitments and collaborating closely with process, integration, and yield multi-functional teams in both TD and co-located manufacturing to drive the development of next-generation memory technologies. In this exciting role, you will become a domain expert on physical failure analysis methods for any given electrical failure!
Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, the following:
Manage a team to analyze failures, conduct electrical tests, verify failures, and use PFA techniques.
Work with other TD YE, HVM YE counterparts and Global Engineering Teams to identify and use global best-known methods.
Drive failure analysis initiatives for the yield improvement team. Build and deliver new methodologies and capabilities.
Collaborate with metrology and RDA team to re-define and validate inline detection capability.
Develop the strategic vision for your department and prioritize resources (capital, time, team members) needed to accomplish that vision.
Conduct performance management by crafting individual performance targets that have line of sight to department goal and tracking leading indicators.
Finish the required safety training and ensure work is conducted in accordance with Micron safety policies while promoting a positive work environment.
Encourage collaborative efforts to solve problems, improve efficiency, and increase quality.
Successful candidates for this position will have:
Experience in the semiconductor industry in the areas of Process Integration, Yield Improvement, Failure Analysis, Data Science, or Unit Process.
In-depth knowledge and direct experience with nonvolatile memories.
Good understanding of the process flow, and interaction of process and device.
Theoretical and/or operational knowledge of scanning electron microscopes (SEM), focused ion beam (FIB), Transmission emission microscopes (TEM), and Elemental Analysis (EDS, EELS).
Proficiency in Python, JavaScript, C, or C++ is preferred. Experience with Windows, Linux, and JMP statistic software is beneficial.
Ability to be self-motivated and self-governing with proven ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
Solid analysis, communication, and reporting abilities with demonstrated presentation skills.
Experience:
Demonstrated ability as a Failure Analysis Lead, Manager with at least 5 years-experience in Electrical or Physical Failure Analyss in semiconductor.

We're searching for a Failure Analysis Engineer to be part of our Product & Testing Engineering department diverse team of talent. You will be responsible for electrical failure analysis (EFA) and physical failure analysis (PFA) in root cause finding for product yield improvement.

What you will be working on:
  • Support EFA and PFA for customer returns, product qualification issue, reliability monitoring failure, specific customer request and fab issue
  • Undertake failure analysis on low-yielding products, qualification failures and customer rejects
  • Participate in cross-functional teams to provide analytical support
  • Undertake role in managing and prioritizing FA requests
  • Track section performance indices and undertake projects for continuous improvement
  • Develop and establish new FA capabilities and techniques
  • Liaise with external labs for advance FA techniques
  • Responsible and accountable for quality and integrity of work and analysis
  • Drive continuous improvement in quality, productivity, cost and safety of work processes and environment to achieve assigned section/department and/or company KPI
  • Ensure compliance to QMS/ISMS related requirements
  • Establish/Adhere to lab and fab safety and housekeeping protocols
  • Ensure compliance to EHS related requirements

More About You:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Material Science or Electrical/Electronic), Physics or equivalent
  • At least 2 year(s) of experience in semiconductor wafer fab failure analysis
  • Basic engineering knowledge, which may include semiconductor pump and vacuum system and electrical wiring system
  • Fundamental knowledge in semiconductor design layout and electronic circuits
  • Proficient in Microsoft applications
  • Good problem solving skills
  • Good analytical skills
  • Fresh graduates are welcomed
