We are seeking a highly skilled Design Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our Civil and Structural department, you will be responsible for designing and coordinating assigned projects.

• Develop and implement design strategies for Civil and Structural projects.
• Analyze and design structures in buildings or on any construction project as required.
• Collaborate with clients & consultants to meet C&S requirements.
• Ensure civil and structural requirements align with project timelines.

• Bachelor's degree in Civil and Structural Engineering from a reputable University.
• Minimum 1-2 years working experience in Civil & Structural consultancy firm.
• Familiarity with structural programs such as STAAD, TEKLA, ETABS, RAPT would be advantageous.
• Able to work independently.

The Design Expert will be responsible for creating 2D and 3D drawings, product specifications, designing sheet metal, enclosures, and electrical products, making necessary changes to drawings as requested by customers or supervisors.

1. Managing a team of multi-disciplinary engineers in undertaking detailed design and tender documentation for the Waste to Energy (WTE) and Sludge Incineration Facility (SIF).
2. Evaluating the technical aspects of tenders received by the Client for the construction contracts.
3. Direct liaison with Client’s Technical Directors.
4. Reviewing and monitoring the Contractor’s design submittals.
5. Chairing regular Design Review Coordination Meetings with the Contractors.
6. Providing technical support to the Resident Site Staff team during construction, erection, and commissioning phases.
7. Ensuring the overall technical accuracy and adequacy of the contractor’s deliverables for the design under their contracts.
8. Performing any other delegated matters by the PD/PM as required.

The individual shall be:

• A Professional Engineer/Chartered Engineer registered in their country of practice (preferred).
• Possessing a minimum of 20 years of relevant engineering experience in delivering large-scale industrial/utilities projects (e.g., waste, water, oil & gas, power) and experience in large-scale solid waste management projects (e.g., waste-to-energy, sludge incineration, materials recovery, food waste treatment).

It will be an added advantage if the individual has:

• Undertaken a similar role in the last 10 years.
• Previous experience working in Singapore.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Strong interpersonal skills.

Role Summary

As a Engineer, Engineering and Design, you will be responsible for leading the design process for solar power projects, from conceptualization to implementation. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including project managers, professional engineers, LEWs, electrical engineers, and contractors to ensure the successful execution of solar energy projects. Your expertise will be pivotal in optimizing solar system designs and ensuring compliance with engineering standards

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and engineering review process for EPCs’ master document list submission, including system sizing, layout optimization, solar structural design and balance of system engineering.
• Collaborate with internal teams and external EPCs to integrate solar PV systems with existing infrastructure and building designs, including system components to suit site condition and in accordance to solar engineering standards (IEC, Singapore Standards etc).
• Handle structural design submissions to HDB for SolarNova projects and make sure they meet all rules and requirements. Work with HDB and EPC Professional Engineers to answer questions or update designs to get approvals.
• Design and develop electrical single-line diagram, panel schedules and connection diagram for solar electric systems using computer-aided design (CAD) software.
• Complete all electrical calculations in detail related to the project (DC and AC).
• Prepare and review PVSyst report and PR calculations.
• Assist in getting endorsements from Professional Engineers and LEWs for the related engineering calculation, analysis documents and drawings.
• Provide technical direction or support to Project Manager and Engineer during design review, installation, start-up, testing, system commissioning, or performance monitoring.
• Provide technical guidance and support to junior engineers and project teams, fostering a culture of continuous learning and development.
• Stay abreast of emerging technologies, trends, and best practices in solar energy and construction industries, and integrate them into project designs.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, civil/structural engineering or related field.
• Proven experience (minimum 3 years) in the design and engineering of solar power systems, preferably in the construction industry.
• Prefers candidate with direct experience in preparing and managing design submissions to HDB for SolarNova projects, including responding to feedback and securing necessary approvals.
• In-depth knowledge of solar PV technologies, components, and system configurations.
• Familiarity with local building codes, regulations, and permitting processes in Singapore.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Effective communication and interpersonal abilities, with the capacity to collaborate effectively across diverse teams and stakeholders.
